University of Tennessee Strong Hall Research Facility
The Strong Hall Research Facility, designed in conjunction with The S/L/A/M Collaborative, represents one of the tangible steps that University of Tennessee is taking in its ambition to become one of the Top 25 research universities in the nation. The facility provides a long overdue, state-of-the-art facility for the students and staff of two highly accomplished departments of the Knoxville campus – Anthropology and Earth and Planetary Science. It also houses the general education components for Biology and Chemistry and 30,000 SF of general teaching space.
The 268,000 SF facility opened in the fall semester of 2017. It provides a sense of a presence and high visibility for the departments and serves as a recruiting tool for the best researchers in the world.
