Daniel Boone High School Athletic Upgrades

The main design intent is the implementation of a common pathway that will create an axis for the new infrastructure to connect to all existing and future facilities. The new accessible plazas, walkways, and new pathway lighting will direct end users into shared spaces. Existing home grandstand and adjacent storage building will be demolished. A new home grandstand with a new press box and filming platform will be constructed in place of the preceding one, accommodating around 2,300 spectators. Three separate buildings allocated underneath the bleacher structure will consolidate storage, concession and toilet facilities.

The existing field house would be remodeled in order to serve as a gateway into the complex, as well as ticket booth and visitor’s public restrooms. The existing visitor bleacher structure would be replaced with new ones. The existing track and field and cross country lockers will be renovated, and a new field house facility will serve soccer and football amenities. The cross country track would be reworked into a new pathway that encompasses the new design layout. The existing softball field would be relocated within the adjacent axis, and incorporate new lockers, new dugout for both home and visitor, new batting cage, and new bleacher sitting and press box. The baseball field would also procure new lockers, new dugout for both home and visitor, new batting cage, and new bleacher sitting and press box. Site work grading and implementation of irrigation in the baseball and softball fields can be anticipated, which presents the opportunity of new turf in these two fields. The existing football field lights will be relocated and new softball and baseball field lights will be replaced.

At this time, Phase I is scheduled to start Fall 2023. The initial phase will include the pathway and plazas, pathway lighting, demolition of existing and construction of new grandstand, construction of new concessions/storage/toilet facilities, and relocation of field lights.
