This month, Chancellor Jimmy Cheek and several University of Tennessee officials cut the ribbon on the new 98,000 s.f. University of Tennessee Student Health Center facility on the Knoxville campus. The new facility is designed to meet the current and future healthcare needs for the student and faculty for years to come. Combining primary care, mental health services and health-related education services into one location was critical for the success of this project. The new facility, located adjacent to Stokley Athletic Center and the Thornton Athletics facility (another LGA project) is designed with an exterior skin of brick and precast concrete veneer, aluminum panels and high efficiency low-e glazing. The design incorporates numerous energy saving principals and is on track to receive “LEED Silver” certification from the United States Green Building Council.

Other members of the team include DIA of Knoxville.
