Newport Innovation Center Opens for Cocke County Schools
Congratulations to the Cocke County School System on the opening of their newest facility! The Newport Innovation Center is a state-of-the-art career & technical education (CTE) middle school in the heart of Newport that aims to present students with skills and knowledge in various trade industries.
LGA was honored to have been a part of the ribbon cutting and open house that was held for faculty, students, and supporters of this incredible project.

The Cocke County School System committed to a middle school CTE center to serve the entire county, while simultaneously revitalizing a partially vacant and mostly underutilized retail center at a visibly prominent location only about a mile from downtown Newport, Tennessee.

Delivering high-quality CTE options to students was a large focus for Cocke County Schools. For the past three years, LGA worked closely with the school system to design a space where students can be introduced to a wide variety of career paths and learn more about the skills and knowledge that go into those careers. Through hands-on activities with high-tech equipment and a tailored curriculum provided by the Newport Innovation Center’s instructors, students in sixth through eighth grade have the ability to jump-start their path towards a successful future in agriculture, STEM, medicine, and more.
