LGA Hosts First Friday Event, “ADAM”, with UTK Students

Lewis Group Architects will be hosting an exhibition of students’ work from Professor James Rose’ UTK College of Architecture + Design studio entitled ADAM, Accessory Dwelling Additively Manufactured, where accessory dwelling unit projects in various Knoxville neighborhoods have been explored within the specific lens of additive manufacturing.

Additive manufacturing, more commonly known as 3D printing, is a computer-controlled process used to create three-dimensional objects by depositing materials – plastics, metals, ceramics or even scaled up to concrete – in layers. The projects exhibited will showcase the projects in their plastic 3D printed forms, as well as the next scale iteration with ceramic prototypes; the final (future) iteration is to be 3D printed concrete structures at actual size. The exhibition will also highlight the additive manufacturing process through time lapse video.

This event will run from 4:00pm – 7:00pm and will be hosted at LGA’s Knoxville office, 611 King Street, Suite 250 in downtown Knoxville’s Emory Place. We invite you to stop by and speak with these students about their creative and innovative projects!
