Sequatchie County High School Athletic Complex

The new Sequatchie County High School athletic complex includes the conversion of the existing natural grass football field into a new cutting-edge synthetic turf field complete with a completely modern underdrain system, new goal posts, new vinyl-coated devising fence, and restoration of a sidewalk system to allow fans to move easily from existing parking to the existing grandstands. The turf is a Shaw Industries Legion 2.0 surface utilized by a number of both colleges and professional teams.

It also includes a complete reconstruction of a new 6-lane track, fully compliant with TSSAA standards. The track itself has a Plexitrac system of SBR rubber. The substrate was entirely replaced due to deteriorated conditions found during the construction phase of the project. Additionally, a brand new long jump, D-zone for high jump & pole vault runway, discus circle & throw zone, and shot put & throw zone were constructed. The track is striped for optimum utilization with the ability to run the 100-meter and 110-meter high hurdles in either direction on two different straightaways. Bleachers were added to allow spectators to enjoy future track meets.

The softball and baseball fields were also improved by replacing fence-style backstops with modern “net-style” nylon backstops.
