Patriot Academy

To respond to the consistent growth that Jefferson County has experienced, the school system commissioned LGA to design two interrelated projects: the additions and renovations to the existing high school, and a new high school facility, seen here, for 750 additional students. The new high school facility operates in tandem with the existing high school by sharing athletic fields, the new auditorium, and some vocational and special education areas.

Apart from that, the new facility has been designed to operate independently including all necessary core facilities such as a gymnasium, dining, media center, administration, guidance, and core curriculum areas. The plan of this facility locates the core facilities centrally, and the three classroom wings form three parts of a cruciform, radiating from the core and allowing for future expansion.
