Morristown Regional Eye Center
The new 14,000 SF building for Morristown Regional Eye Center provides a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere for their patients. The building is designed for three ophthalmologists and one optometrist. Clinical functions have been organized into repeating pods with patient and staff circulation clearly separated. It was important to the owner that the services be housed in a setting with some very specific, traditional features.
With this goal in mind, the building was completed using a residential materials palette and some components of the Cape Cod style. A stone fireplace provides a positive distraction to patients in the waiting room. Natural light is provided through clerestory windows and skylights to control glare for patients with eye sensitivity. The front porch continues the traditional design of the exterior look and provides a covered area for patient drop-off.
