East Tennessee Healthcare Development

Designed as a one stop health and wellness retreat, The East Tennessee Healthcare Development is a patient-centered, physician-led complex providing a wide array of services to cancer patients undergoing treatments as well as members of the community seeking wellness and healthy-living services. This comprehensive center is located on a sloping site where patients can enjoy a landscaped walk among waterfalls and a broad view of the Great Smoky Mountains on their way to treatment. The components of the center, distributed between two buildings, will include an array of cutting edge technologies in cancer diagnosis (modalities included are PET scanners, linear accelerators, CT scanners, nuclear medicine, bone density, x-ray, and MRI) and treatment.

Highlights of the complex are the dedicated breast cancer treatment center and a cancer treatment center for other types of disease. Other components include chemotherapy treatment, clinical trials and research center, patient education, conference and training, physical therapy, spa services, and alternative medicines. Finally, the complex also includes a medical office building.
